What is Sexual Abuse?

Sexual abuse is defined as any situation where a child is used by another person for sexual purposes.  This includes teens and other children.  Abuse can range from non-physical to actual touching offenses which include:

  • Fondling or touching private body parts (breasts, buttocks or genitals)
  • Mouth to genital contact 
  • Genital to genital contact 

Non-physical abuse includes:                   

epidemic

  • Exposing private body parts to a child
  • Showing a child sexually explicit materials
  • Forcing a child to watch others engaged in sexual acts
  • Taking sexually oriented or nude photos or video of a child
  • Obscene phone calls or internet communication
